New Year’s Resolution; Read More, my 2012 Reading List

New Year’s Resolution; Read More - My 2012 Reading List

So here we are in 2012, how did that happen? Well, my New Year’s resolution is to read more.  Now, you probably think; what, she’s a writer I bet she read loads, well erm, that’s not as true as I would like it to be. I’m a slow reader, due to my Dyslexia, and when I read a book I have a relationship with it. For the duration of time I’m reading it, I enter into that world, and if it’s a good read then my life stop as and all I do is read.

So in 2012, I’ve decided I’m going to aim to read a novel a week.

So where do I start. Well, I could start with my TBR ‘To Be Read’ pile, which is ever increasing. Writing and having writing friends means there is never a shortage of book recommendations that I MUST read. Also, getting to know new writer friends means I also want to read all their books so my TBR pile is truly ever increasing!

My current TBR (To Be Read) Pile! Not including books like Candy Gourley’s ‘Tall Story’ which I’ve yet to acquire!)

On top of my TBR pile, there is my wish list / shopping list of books that are coming out in 2012 that I really want to read…

2012 reading wish list

In January…
DarkParties by Sara Grant

In February…

Torn, the second book in Amanda Hocking’s TrylleTrilog. I read the first book switched in November and it’s fab!

Faery Tales and Nightmares, by the fabulous author Melissa Marr author of the Wicked Lovely books. This has a provisional publication date of February.

In March…

Ascend, the final instalment of Amanda Hockings the Trylle trilogy

In April…

The Rescue Princesses:  The Secret Promise by Paula Harrison

In May…

Slated by Teri Terry, which had the best front cover I’ve seen in prospective 2012 new realises which is out in May (roll on summer)

Also due out in 2012, but date not yet announced…

The yet un-titled sequel to Moria Young’s, Blood Red Road, which is due out sometime in 2012

GakuenAlice Volume 14, 15, 16 and 17 by Tachibana Higuchi. This one my favioute Manga series and it too good to miss so you should check it out!

Books I Read every Year…

Fruits Baskets by Natsuki Takaya all 23 of them

The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly

So that is my 2012 reading list, not including all the books, that I'm sure to discover and want to read throughout the year. So here to 2012, a good year for reading!

  1. Thanks for sharing your list. I posted about 2012 releases last week in hopes of hearing about more awesome books, so I was happy to find someone else doing the same thing!

  2. Its always good to hear what other people are looking forward to reading, or recommendations of good reads. Do we have any of the same book on our list?
